These solar powered lights are literally powered by the sun, providing you the beautiful landscape lighting feel while not consuming extra electricity.  When the sun hits the lights it chargers a built in AA Ni-MH battery (included with item). This battery allows the light to function even when theres no light during the night.  Another amazing feature is that the lights can be set on a timer so they automatically turn on at night and turn off at dawn.  This lets the light conserve it's charge for when the lighting can actually be seen.  Overall this is a great environmentally friendly and cost effective way of adding landscape lighting to your house.
