Are Meal Delivery Services (Like Blue Apron) Green?

I was considering trying out one of those meal delivery services like Blue Apron or Hello Fresh. It seems like there are a ton of options out there but I've heard some of them produce way too much waste. I was wondering if anyone here has had experience with that and can provide insight on which ones are the most green?

I have often wondered about this myself. Are they sourcing locally, or is it being shipped from a thousand miles out? At least one positive I have heard is that its getting folks in to cooking for themselves. So in that respect, if they truly "get the bug" lol, they can start sourcing healthier meals locally to cook right at home. Anyone else heard of the "green" aspects or lack there of? Give a shout out, let's hear it !
